There are small daily rewards, but no system of "daily streak", where you would need to log on to get better rewards.
You can pay for unique bonuses, but I would'nt say it gives you an overwhelming advantage over a non paying player. Makes you advance a little bit faster. You can be a patient regular player and get plenty of Jewels. For my taste, the game is well balanced on this aspect.
Seasonal Events, but those usually last 1 month or 2. Somewhat reasonable.

There are some advantages to have friends helping you daily, but you are not totally compelled to do it. I don't feel like I would be missing out that much. Also, you can add random friends easily, you don't have to know them.

Only in events, special gifts are given at milestones of completion of the event. All events have a "free" version, and a "golden ticket", available for Jewels, to get more items. Those items you could possibly have are shown beside the free ones to tempt you.
